Qualifications of a Hand Surgeon

Tennessee Hand Surgeons All of our Chattanooga Hand Surgeons have met the following requirements:

Four year college degree,
Completion of medical school (4 years),
Completion of a residency program in either Orthopaedic Surgery (5 years), or Plastic Surgery (5-7 years).
Completion of a one year fellowship in Hand Surgery accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

In addition to these multiple years of training, we are proud of the fact that Dr. Jemison, Dr. Brzezienski, and Dr. Kennedy have been awarded the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand through either the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery or the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This certificate and the training and expertise it represents define the standard of care in the specialty of hand surgery.
